Name: Ali Sarp Agim

Role: Security Consultant

Where are you from?

I’m from Turkey, I guess I’m the only Turkish guy in company.

How long have you been in Ireland?

It’s been 1 year and 3 months so far and counting. I moved to Ireland 18th January 2015

Why did you move here?

I moved to Ireland because of Integrity360’s job offer. One of my friends told me it’s a great company and it was a chance to work with great people. I can’t say he lied to me so far :-)

What work do you do?

I used to be a Sales Engineer (presales) for some of the big Vendors when I was living in Turkey. In integrity360 I’m a Security Consultant and sometimes I’m helping the sales team with presales too. My biggest skill is Websense which is now called Forcepoint since January. I’m in the IT business for more than 8 years and I have worked with lots of different products.

What do you like most about your job?

Actually there is no one specific answer for this question but if I really need to specific, creating solutions is the best part about my job. Most people think creating a new thing is good but I consider that Security specialists are like doctors. There is a body and it's having some problems, we need to cure it before it dies or something kills it. Sometimes we need to prevent problems before it happens. Maybe after watching the 8th season of House M.D (also it was too late to became a doctor :-)) I have started to feel that the diagnosis part is the most fun.

How would you describe your working environment/the culture at Integrity360?

Integrity360 is an interesting company. From a numbers perspective, we can say it’s a really, really, big company but when you start to be part of the team, you are seeing people still have that small company ethos. I mean if you need help with something, everyone wants to help you without an objective for themselves. I guess the Integrity360 soul is based on “fun”. The Company never lets you drown in too much work, there is always, this unchangeable fun factor inside of the company and people. Enjoying working in Integrity is unavoidable :-)

What’s your favourite thing about working at Integrity360?

Our motto is my favourite which after I saw it’s not just about some words. Integrity – Respect – Teamwork – Focus. People respecting my work and I know that my team have my back, you can feel the support. This might be a trick because after all these good things you are focusing on your job way better. :-)

Was it difficult to adjust to living and working in Ireland?

Most difficult part was the making that decision. After I said yes, all the things happened too fast and easy. Except the cloudy and rainy weather, I can’t find anything to complain about. If Integrity360 could find a way to make Ireland sunny … I’m kidding :-)

How does your working life help to make you feel at home here?

I never had a trouble to find people for Friday night pints maybe we can start with this. Actually correct answer is you are not feeling "like" home, somehow my friends and the people make here my home. It’s been only one year and I have already start to mention Ireland as my home. That’s weird, isn’t it?

What’s the one thing you have learned from your time living in Ireland?

Oh I’m feeling this question is a trap but I will play. Firstly every morning could be a big, big, problem if you didn’t get used to Irish weather. You can wear all warm clothes in a cold morning but suddenly all afternoon can be like a summer day. Also as opposite you can wear a t-shirt for a warm morning and you can find yourself in a corner freezing to death or at least soaked wet.

What’s the biggest thing you’ve learned from working at Integrity360?

In a professional way I have learned better report writing skills and also the benefits of working as a team in Integrity360. Literally, I’m writing reports all the time, maybe in my past 4 years I didn’t write that many reports. But it’s not scary, the teamwork is helping with all these things. In the worst case scenario, if you ask for help you can always find someone who will offer their support. In a non-work related sense....the biggest thing I've learned.... company nights out can be fun. Really, the people in Integrity360 know how to Party!
