Cyber security is a collective effort, and at the core of any successful strategy are the people who put words into action every day.

2017 was a landmark year for cyber attacks with hundreds of millions of people affected around the world. According to the Breach Level Index report, nine billion records have been breached since 2013 – with nearly two million of those in the first six months of 2017 alone.

When we are woken suddenly from sleep, instinct swiftly kicks in wake-up call while we are temporarily disoriented. The WannaCry ransomware worm was one such rude awakening for many organisations that were unprepared for the outbreak and fallout.

In the run-up to Christmas and new year, we often look towards the year ahead and think of new beginnings and exciting times in front of us. We focus on achieving success in health and fitness, or in our careers. We like to be positive and think how things are going to improve and get better.
